A 50-year-old dad in Osun State was paraded by the Osun State Police Command for molesting his 13-year-old daughter.
This was publicized by the Commissioner of Police, Undie Adie, who pledged that the command would not back down in ensuring that rapists were made to face the full wrath of the constitution.
The father, Adeyeye, who lives at B50 Agbongbe Street in Ibokun, Obokun Local Government Area of the state, while fielding queries from reporters said it was drunkenness that led him into molesting his daughter.
“She is my daughter from my other wife that left me and I have had sex with her like twice under the effect of alcohol. But on the day I was charged, I did not have sex with her. I beat her for refusing to cook as I advised and she went out to tell neighbors that I was having sex with her.
“My wife at home had cautioned me that I should not permit my daughter to have access to my room to prevent temptation but I did not listen to her”, he said.
According to Adeleye, who alleged to be a farmer and commercial motorcyclist, the girl was living with her mother’s families in Ibadan, Oyo state before she relocated to Ibokun and she was learning to tailor.
Meanwhile, the officer also paraded one Makinde Adeoye, 30, who alleged to have had sex with another 13 years old girl at his Isona street resident in Ilesa.
Furthermore, a 19-year-old Isiaka Afolabi of Adekunle region in Ila-Oragun ruined a 7-year-old small of the same address. While Oyerinde Oyeniyi, 28, was said to have unlawful carnal knowledge of his 11 years old landlord’s daughter at Mokuro road in Ile-Ife.
The Commissioner of Police, regardless, instructed parents of casualties of rape to avoid withdrawing cases against suspects due to influence from either community leaders or parents of casualties.
He added that the government would no longer accept the settlement of such rape cases but ensure that perpetrators face the full bitterness of the law.
